Question:
My daughter, an animal lover, was recently deployed to Iraq. She has managed to find a dog in need of rescue. The dog was associated with a patient-rehabilitation program that has been discontinued. My daughter has found a home for her here in the states, but there's a problem with paying for the flight from Iraq. Do you know of any organizations that might be willing to help? Any suggestions on how to raise money to help this dog? Your guidance would be welcome.

Answer:
Even after some of the top military brass said no to soldiers bringing back dogs they had adopted as mascots and combat companions, there have been some successful shipments of dogs out of Iraq.
