Question:
I had a cat for four years, and he was never sick until recently. He was sneezing and had no appetite, so I took him to the vet. He was dehydrated but not running a fever. The vet gave him some shots of fluids on both sides of his back and some Clavamox drops. She said if the cat wasn't better in three days, we should bring him back. Well, when I got up the very next morning, Mr. Tasha was dead.I called the vet's office, but the secretary said she was too busy to answer the phone. I left my phone number, but the vet never called back.I'm hoping to find out what happened. I'm hoping you can give me some idea on this so I can put my heart and mind to rest.

Answer:
I wish I could put your heart and mind to rest.First, it was not your fault that poor Mr. Tasha died. You did the right thing taking him to see a veterinarian. My educated guess is that your cat died from an acute viral infection or possibly a blood clot. But without an autopsy (that the veterinarian could have done), the cause of death will never be known.Try one more time to speak with your veterinarian. If she still refuses to speak with you, contact your local Better Business Bureau and the State Board of Veterinary Examiners and file a complaint.
